Welcome to Newbridge

Newbridge webcasts

We have produced several short films, or webcasts, to help explain our work, raise awareness of eating disorders and enable you to listen to our specialist staff.

Newbridge House is a specialist eating disorder centre for the treatment of young people aged 12 to 18.

Our service has been designed and is led by Medical Director Professor Hubert Lacey, one of the most experienced and highly regarded eating disorders experts in the UK.

We have a family-centred approach, recognising that effective treatment for a young person with an eating disorder must be fully inclusive and supportive of their family.

Eating disorder treatments

Our inpatient treatment services include two different options – our standard recovery programme and the more recently introduced intensive treatment programme. Patients on both programmes access a wide variety of psychological treatments and group work, with integrated support from a wide range of eating disorder specialists, including occupational therapy, dietitian and full-time counsellor. Young people also attend our school at Newbridge House.

Newbridge House provides a welcoming, homely environment in a suburban location. It is not part of a larger psychiatric unit.

We also provide a separate programme of individually-tailored outpatient therapy for young people and adults.

Newbridge House is registered and therefore licensed to provide services by the Care Quality Commission (Provider ID 1-52425324). We are also a BUPA registered provider and member of the QNIC network.
