Newbridge House has recently established the West Midlands Professional Forum for Eating Disorders.

We welcome all health and education professionals working with adolescents and young adults, with the aim of raising awareness of eating disorders and sharing information.

We have a programme of free educational sessions which take place every month in Sutton Coldfield, each covering a different aspect of eating disorders.

Sessions are focused upon the needs of professionals working with young people, sharing information and resources which are valuable and relevant. Diane Cook, manager of Newbridge House, who has established the forum, explains:

"Understandably, many professionals working with young people are concerned about how they would recognise an eating disorder and what action they should take.

"Eating disorders are major illnesses with very serious consequences, but they are complex and often difficult to identify.

"The aim of the forum is to provide information, resources and advice which will really help in their daily professional role.

"As a specialist centre for the treatment of eating disorders, Newbridge House is committed to raising awareness of these complex illnesses.

"Early diagnosis and treatment is very important. Delays in treatment increase the risk that the individual will suffer from some degree of irreversible physical and or psychological damage."

Booking is essential if you wish to attend any of our events.

Educational sessions take place on the first Friday of every month from 10am to 12.30pm at Moor Hall Hotel, Moor Hall Drive, Four Oaks, Sutton Coldfield, B75 6LN. Coffee is served from 9.30am onwards.
