Quality assurance

Patient involvement initiative

Young people undergoing inpatient treatment at Newbridge House have been invited to observe and reflect on the staff recruitment process. This is part of our ongoing commitment to patient involvement and ensuring we constantly reflect upon and incorporate feedback from our patients. Although the patients were not involved in asking questions or scoring responses, they were asked to reflect on how well they thought candidates may relate to young people.

‘Headspace’ and ‘Getting to know me’ introduced to enhance patient experience

Newbridge House has recently reviewed all aspects of consent and patient information within our service. Following that review, we have introduced these two initiatives to help young patients undergoing inpatient care to better understand and engage with the treatment process and to help all staff involved with their care to understand each patient on a wholly individual basis.

Newbridge House has a dedicated quality assurance lead wholly focused on quality of experience and service

Jane Edwards is a highly experienced nurse from a Board level background, whose focus at Newbridge House is wholly upon quality assurance: “By having a role wholly focused on quality assurance at a senior level, we can ensure that quality is not something we simply ‘do’ to meet inspection standards. Rather, quality is a consistent priority integrated into every aspect of our training, education and practice.” (Jane Edwards)
