Sophia Davies is an occupational therapist at Newbridge House, where she is based full-time. Sophia is committed to using occupational therapy as part of a multi-disciplinary treatment approach. Sophia obtained her degree in occupational therapy at the University of Derby following a degree in biological sciences from the University of Warwick.


During her training, which involved work in both physical and mental health services, Sophia developed an interest in occupational therapy and mental health. Working in a mental health rehabilitation service, Sophia lead a programme to support clients’ development of life skills in food shopping, meal planning, budgeting and healthy eating.


Sophia has researched the link between occupation and wellbeing and how this understanding can be used in a multi-disciplinary team. Sophia is experienced in working with adolescents and younger adults. She is trained and experienced in a variety of creative media beneficial in occupational therapy.


Sophia has a particular interest in lifestyle rebalance and offers a range of graded programmes, including a social eating programme. Sophia also facilitates social outings to provide patients with the opportunity to build confidence in community settings.
