Our treatments

Young woman laughing
We provide a full range of established psychological therapies known to be effective with adolescents and young adults who have eating disorders.

Individual treatment

The individual treatment programme is integral to our approach. We do not favour a single therapy but carefully assess individual needs and select the right therapy to meet those needs.

The approaches we offer are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy.

Specially-designed treatments

Specially designed treatments are available, including body-image therapy, motivational enhancement work, lifestyle redesign, anxiety and anger management and a sophisticated occupational therapy. The reintegration of the service user into school, college, job, family and social life is a therapeutic aim.

A family-centred approach

We have a family-centred approach, particularly for adolescents, and encourage the whole family to engage in the treatment programme. We provide a self-contained flat within Newbridge House where families are very welcome to stay. Older service users have the opportunity of couple or marital therapy, if these are appropriate.
