A therapeutic approach
A therapeutic approach to the treatment of eating disorders is at the heart of our ethos in Newbridge House.
Our psychologists work closely with our multi-disciplinary team of psychiatrists, nurses, occupational therapists and dieticians, sharing information, assessments and best practice.
As a specialist provider of eating disorders services for young people, we are able to offer a broad spectrum of psychological interventions.
Uniquely tailored treatment
We do not promote one form of therapy over another. Every treatment programme is developed following an individual assessment to understand each person's unique needs.
People respond to psychological therapies on an individual basis and while one form of therapy may be effective for one person, another may be better suited to an alternative approach.
We decide upon the best form of treatment for each person based on the problems they are experiencing, research evidence and recommendations from the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE).
All people requiring individual psychological therapy at Newbridge House have an initial assessment with one of the consultant psychiatrists and/or the clinical psychologist. During this initial assessment, our clients have the opportunity to ask questions about the different types of therapy available to them.
