Internationally renowned Australian professor will lead Master Class in March 2015

Eminent Australian clinical psychologist Professor Stephen Touyz will lead a Master Class at Newbridge House on March 20th, 2015.
This will be the fifth in the successful series, bringing internationally recognised specialists to Newbridge and enabling eating disorders professionals from different services to train together.
Professor Touyz is Professor of Clinical Psychology and Honorary Professor in the Discipline in Psychiatry at the University of Sydney, Australia. He was the chief investigator in the world’s first multi-centre, randomised controlled trial of patients with severe and enduring anorexia nervosa.
He has been widely published with studies reporting on body image disturbance in eating disorders. In collaboration with Loughborough University, Professor Touyz has developed the LEAP programme to treat over-exercise as a feature of anorexia. LEAP is widely used throughout the world, including at Newbridge, where the programme has been adapted for the under 18s.
Professor Touyz’s Master Class will take place on Friday, March 20th. The forthcoming event will be the MARSIPAN Master Class, with Dr Paul Robinson, focusing on the physical management of anorexia nervosa and taking place on January 23rd, 2015.
